Former MSNBC Producer to Headline Capital City Pride’s April Speaker Series

DES MOINES, IA – On April 19 Capital City Pride will continue its 2018 Speaker Series with Michael LaRosa, Communications Director for the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee under the leadership of Democratic Ranking Member, Maria Cantwell (D-WA). LaRosa has over a decade of experience in government, politics, and media.

“The opportunity to hear Michael share his wealth of knowledge is such an exciting thing for us to be a part of,” said Dan Jansen, Vice President, Capital City Pride. “We’re proud to welcome Michael into our city and provide him an avenue to share his background in politics and media.”

LaRosa spent seven years as a producer for MSNBC’s Hardball with Chris Matthews where he was responsible for conceptualizing, developing, and producing innovative segments. LaRosa reported on the House, Senate, and gubernatorial campaigns for NBC’s First Read and MSNBC.com. Additionally, he has been featured in Washington Life’s 2017 Young & the Guest List, Capitol File Magazine’s “13 Distinguished DC Men” It’s all Journalism’s Weekly Podcast, and the Express Times profile piece, “Catching up with Michael LaRosa.”

The 2018 Speaker Series will be held at the Science Center of Des Moines at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 19. The series is free to attend, however, due to limited space, it is recommended that tickets be reserved at www.capitalcitypride.org/speakers
