Des Moines, IA – Capital City Pride (CCP) is bringing back its annual Pride Gala and Award Ceremony on

Saturday, March 5, 2022 at the River Center in Des Moines, Iowa. After a year off due to COVID-19, CCP is

excited to bring together the Des Moines community, LGBTQ+ people, and allies to celebrate those who

strengthen and promote the Iowa LGBTQ+ community.

This year’s event will be Studio 54 themed and those attending are invited to don their favorite disco era

fashion and boogie the night away. Social hour will begin at 5:00 p.m. and dinner will be served starting at 6:00

p.m. with awards and entertainment to follow.

“This event is one that I, myself, and so many others within the community look forward to every year. With the

difficult decision to cancel last year’s event, we could not be more thankful that we are able to bring it back in

2022 and celebrate all of those that make the Iowa LGBTQ+ community what it is today.” said Jennifer

Carruthers, Board President.

The venue will be a buzz with 70's fashion, music, food, libations and entertainment. All proceeds from the

2022 Capital City Pride Gala and Awards Ceremony will benefit programming for the LGBTQ+ community in

the Des Moines area through Capital City Pride events.

Three outstanding individuals and one business organization will be recognized with a 2022 Capital City Pride

Gala Award for the following:

● Two Persons of the year awards

● Pride Ally of the Year

● Pride Company of the Year
