Sponsorship
In order to successfully organize and implement our activities and programming, we need your help! Our sponsorship guide overviews the sponsorship opportunities, requested donation amounts, and stated benefits. We have also included a thorough description of each event to demonstrate how your donations will be utilized. We hope these details showcase connections between our diverse events and our dedicated supporters.
In addition to June PrideFest Weekend events such as the Pet Parade, Fun Run, and Silent Disco, we produce events that also include the Speaker Series, Gala & Awards Ceremony, Book Club and Storytellers. All sponsorship donations will be used to pay for facilities, speaker fees, speaker transportation and lodging, awards, and promotions. Capital City Pride is committed to giving back to Des Moines and LGBTQ+ community. Throughout the year, we volunteer and fundraise for organizations that support diversity and inclusion
Advertise
Advertising in Capital City Pride’s Pride Guide is a great way to get in front of the LGBTQ community in Des Moines and surrounding communities. The Pride Guide is an electronic and printed booklet that provides detailed information for events and activities occurring during Des Moines (Capital City Pride) Pride Week and PrideFest Weekend. Sponsors, non-profits, and advertisers are able to purchase ads to promote their organizations/businesses to readers and attendees of Des Moines Pride.
Pride Flag Project
Help us show Pride in May and June by sponsoring our effort to hang flags on the street poles in downtown Des Moines! In 2019, we were able to hang 30 flags in the East Village from Locust Street Bridge to 3rd and 6th to 7th Street. In 2021 we would like to double the number of flags from 30 to 60, which will expand our visibility throughout the East Village. Each flag costs $200 to manufacture and hang throughout this downtown neighborhood. These flags are meant to celebrate Iowa’s diversity and commitment to equality.
Volunteer
This is one of the simplest ways to help out our cause. We believe the best way for our initiatives to be successful is for the community to actively get involved. This is an easy and efficient way of contributing to the great work we do at Capital City Pride and we have opportunities for people of various abilities.
From helping with community improvement activities to setting up for events, we have wide-range of activities that you can get involved in. On average more than 80 volunteers donate 600 hours of their time to help make Capital City Pride’s events a success.
We specifically have year-round needs but the majority of that is for PrideFest in June. Over the last three years, PrideFest grew from 17 volunteers in 2017 to over 350 in 2019. There is plenty to do so we would love for you come join our team!
